Saugeen Hospice Inc. (SHI) is planning a six-bed residential hospice that will reflect the values and traditions of the region, and provide the compassionate care founded in our principles. Our focus is on planning and organizing key fundraising events, securing donations, and creating awareness about our hospice.
Saugeen Hospice Inc. (SHI) is a Charitable Organization under CRA regulations, including the ability to fundraise and issue tax receipts.
The Municipality of Brockton has donated three acres of land in the new Eastridge Business Park (east side of Walkerton), and planning is underway.

The dream of a local 6-bed hospice residence where comfort, compassion, and dignity live - is finally within reach. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, 60% of the funds have already been secured. But there is still more needed.
OUR MISSION In partnership with our communities and the Ministry of Health, the Board’s Mission is to plan, design, build and operate a 6-bed hospice residence that brings compassionate end of life care – CLOSER TO HOME.

To build a 6 bed residential hospice - we are approved for 7 partially government funded beds but we are, depending on donations, hoping to build 6 beds to allow for 1 turnaround or transition bed for better efficiency.
Over $1,000,000.00 has been raised so far - total received from fundraisers and donations over the years plus pledges so far total almost $4M and the Build Campaign is now just starting.
